Cloth sims that sell texture

Drop a silk sheet over a bottle and you've doubled its perceived price. Cloth is emotional shorthand — and in Cinema 4D it's almost free.

The mistakes I see most: simulation substeps too low (cloth "pops" through frames), fabric scale ignored (a 10cm napkin behaving like a bedsheet), and — the big one — real-time playback speed. Luxury moves at 50% speed. Always retime.

My baseline: C4D cloth with substeps at 8+, self-collision on, and a wind turbulence of nearly zero. Then retime the cache to 40–60% in post. The moment fabric moves slower than physics says it should, the shot reads as expensive.
